Residential Mowing Terms and Conditions

Mowing Service Details

Yardworx provides mulch mowing only, a method that benefits your lawn by naturally recycling nutrients, improving soil moisture retention, and reducing weed growth. Each week, our team will:

  • Mow all turf areas
  • Trim around objects and structures
  • Blow off all hard surfaces to clear grass clippings and debris

If mechanical hard edging is requested, it will be performed by a separate crew, typically once per month.

Mowing will occur on the same day each week, barring weather-related delays. We maintain grass at 3.25” - 3.75”, a height optimized for turf health and appearance. We follow proper mowing techniques, including alternating mowing directions weekly (except in small or confined areas). If grass clumps due to excessive growth or moisture, an additional cut will be performed to disperse clippings evenly.

Our in-house mechanic services equipment three times per week, ensuring sharp blades to prevent tearing of grass blades and to minimize the risk of turf disease.

Mowing Damage Disclaimer

Our team makes every effort to check for debris and obstacles before mowing. However, Yardworx is not responsible for any damage to items that were not removed beforehand by the customer or were not visible at the time of service.

The customer agrees it is their responsibility to clear the lawn of debris and objects, including but not limited to:

  • Sprinkler heads
  • Downspouts less than four inches above turf level
  • Hoses, toys, pet leashes, and outdoor ornaments
  • Recessed downspout emitters
  • Invisible dog fences
  • Unmarked or shallowly buried wires, pipes, or cables (e.g., internet, utilities, irrigation, landscape lighting)

Additionally, pet waste must be cleaned up before service. If excessive waste is present, service may be skipped for that visit.

Grass growing too close to objects (mailboxes, fence posts, siding, etc.) may be accidentally damaged during trimming. Customers are responsible for maintaining a 6-inch clearance around structures or installing protective barriers.

Mowing Wet Grass & Lawn Damage

Mowing wet grass can sometimes cause unavoidable turf damage. Yardworx is not responsible for turf damage resulting from excessively wet conditions. To help minimize issues, we ask that customers avoid watering their lawn the day before or the day of their scheduled mowing service.

In the event of rain or overly wet conditions:

  • Our crews use special techniques, such as 3-point turns, to minimize turf impact.
  • If an area is too wet, it may be skipped for that visit.
  • Customers may request a skip if they feel their lawn is too wet. Service will resume the following week.

If our equipment leaves mud stains or minor ruts, our crew foreman will apply seed to the affected area at the end of service. In most cases, these marks are superficial and will recover quickly, usually after the next rain. By signing up for Yardworx’s mowing services, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these terms and conditions.

Residential Snow Removal Terms and Conditions

Driveway Snow Removal Service

Snow removal consists of blowing snow from designated areas to a permissible location nearby. This service does not include stacking or hauling snow, sanding, salting, de-icing, or hand shoveling unless explicitly stated in the contract

Service Trigger & Timing:

  • Snow removal will begin after 1” of accumulation or more for unlimited service accounts.
  • Follow-up visits will be provided after city and sidewalk plows pass, as well as during prolonged, heavy snowstorms.
  • The timing of service visits will vary depending on the storm and operational needs.
  • Yardworx may perform snow removal at any time of day or night as conditions require.

Snow Storage & Property Considerations:

  • If insufficient space exists for snow storage on the customer’s property, Yardworx reserves the right to use space alongside the driveway or coordinate alternative storage solutions, such as an adjoining neighbor’s property (with consent).

Service Term & Snowfall Limits:

  • This contract is valid from October 31st to April 15th of the designated season or until a total of 48” of snowfall is reached.
  • If snowfall exceeds 48” in a single season, a per-inch surcharge may apply to cover excessive snow removal costs. (Note: This clause exists as a precaution, and Yardworx has never had to enforce it.)

Driveway Access & Obstructions:

  • If vehicles are parked in the driveway at the time of service, snow will only be cleared from accessible areas.
  • The customer must remove any objects from the driveway before each snowfall, including:
  • Basketball hoops (must be raised or turned to provide at least 10 feet of clearance)
  • Garbage and recycling bins
  • Plant pots, holiday decorations, toys, cords, and other obstructions
  • Gutter downspout extensions (should be removed before the start of the season)
  • Elevated water main caps must be leveled before winter (the customer may do this or contact Yardworx or the City).

Liability & Risk Assumption:

  • Yardworx is not responsible for damage to personal items left in the designated snow removal area.
  • Yardworx is not liable for personal injury, slips, or falls. Our service ensures snow removal but does not guarantee a slip-free surface.

Contract Transfer & Cancellation:

  • If the home is sold or occupied by a new resident, the contract cannot be canceled or refunded but may be transferred to:
  • The new homeowner, or
  • A new property within our service area.

Sidewalk Snow Removal Add-On Service

If sidewalk service is included in the contract, the following terms apply:

  • Sidewalk clearing (shoveling/blowing) is performed separately from driveway service, typically overnight, after snowfall reaches 2” or more.
  • This service does not include:
  • Snow accumulation from roof cleaning or drifting snow
  • Ice removal caused by freezing rain, sleet, or compaction
  • Included areas:
  • Public sidewalks
  • Walkways to front doors
  • Snow removal in front of garage doors
  • Excluded areas:
  • Porches, back patios, and decks

Contract Enforcement:

  • Non-payment or breach of contract terms will void the agreement, and Yardworx will be released from further obligations.
  • If Yardworx is found to be in breach of contract, the customer may cancel the agreement and request a refund for any prepaid services.
  • In the event of a home sale or new occupancy, the contract cannot be canceled or refunded but may be transferred to another property within our service area.

Residential Fertilizing Terms and Conditions

Service Details

Yardworx provides professional fertilization services designed to enhance turf health, improve soil quality, and promote a lush, green lawn. Our fertilization programs include multiple applications throughout the season, applied at optimal times to maximize effectiveness.

Our fertilizing services may include:

  • Granular or liquid fertilizer applications
  • Pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control
  • Broadleaf weed control
  • Aeration and overseeding (if included in the package)
  • Perimeter pest control (if included in the package)

Each application is tailored to seasonal needs and weather conditions to achieve the best possible lawn results.

Service Schedule & Conditions

  • Fertilization services are scheduled according to an optimized seasonal plan. Specific application dates may vary due to weather conditions or product efficacy.
  • Yardworx reserves the right to adjust service timing to accommodate rainfall, extreme temperatures, or drought conditions.
  • Customers will be notified of upcoming applications in advance via email or text, depending on their preferred communication method.
  • Lawn treatments are most effective with proper mowing and watering. Customers are encouraged to follow recommended lawn care practices for best results.

Customer Responsibilities & Lawn Conditions

  • Customers are responsible for keeping their lawn free of debris before each application. This includes removing toys, hoses, lawn furniture, and pet waste to ensure full lawn coverage.
  • Mowing & Watering: For best results, we recommend that customers:
  • Avoid mowing 24 hours before or after an application.
  • Water the lawn as recommended after treatment to help activate the fertilizer and weed control products.
  • Customers must keep pets and children off the treated lawn for at least 24 hours after application or as instructed by the service technician.

Weed Control & Lawn Health Disclaimer

  • Fertilization and weed control results vary based on soil conditions, previous lawn care history, weather, and mowing practices. A single season of treatment will not correct years of poor maintenance or neglect.
  • Some weeds may require multiple applications for full control. New weeds may emerge between treatments, and perfect weed-free results are not guaranteed.
  • Certain grassy weeds (e.g., crabgrass, nutsedge, and dallisgrass) may be more difficult to control and may require additional treatments at an extra charge.

Liability & Service Limitations

  • Yardworx is not responsible for damage caused by:
  • Drought, excessive rain, disease, insect infestations, or pre-existing lawn issues.
  • Irrigation system malfunctions that impact product absorption.
  • Property features such as shallow or unmarked irrigation lines, cables, or pet fences that may be affected by aeration or other treatments.
  • Yardworx is not liable for damage to sidewalks, driveways, or hardscapes caused by fertilizer staining or weed control treatments. Customers are encouraged to water or rinse these areas if needed after an application.

Contract & Payment Terms

  • Fertilizing services are billed per application or as part of a prepaid seasonal package.
  • Missed treatments due to customer lawn maintenance (e.g., recent mowing or watering issues) will not be refunded but can be rescheduled at the next available time.
  • If a customer moves, their fertilization plan may be transferred to their new residence if it is within our service area. Refunds will not be provided for unused applications.
  • If a customer wishes to cancel their fertilization service, they must provide written notice at least 14 days prior to the next scheduled application.

By enrolling in Yardworx’s fertilization program, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these terms and conditions.

Aeration Service Terms and Conditions

Service Details

Yardworx provides core aeration services to improve soil compaction, enhance nutrient absorption, and promote a healthier lawn. Our aeration process removes small plugs of soil to allow air, water, and nutrients to penetrate deeper into the root zone, resulting in stronger turf growth. Aeration may be performed as a standalone service or as part of a seasonal lawn care package. If overseeding is included, seed will be applied immediately after aeration for optimal germination.

Customer Responsibilities – Marking Objects & Lawn Preparation

To ensure a smooth and damage-free service, the customer is responsible for marking all objects in the lawn before aeration, including but not limited to:

  • Sprinkler heads and irrigation valve boxes
  • Invisible (underground) dog fences
  • Shallow cables and utility lines (e.g., internet, landscape lighting, low-voltage wiring)
  • Drainage pipes or downspout extensions
  • Septic system covers or shallow wells
  • Any other objects buried less than 4 inches deep

Failure to mark these items may result in accidental damage, for which Yardworx is not responsible. If you are unsure of buried objects on your property, you may contact your utility provider for assistance in locating underground lines.

Service Limitations & Liability Disclaimer

  • Yardworx is not responsible for damage to unmarked, shallowburied objects, including invisible pet fences, irrigation systems, or utility lines that are less than 4 inches deep.
  • We do not repair or reimburse for any damage to underground dog fences, cables, or unmarked irrigation components. Customers with dog fences should turn off the system before aeration to avoid electrical damage.
  • Yardworx will take reasonable care to avoid obvious obstacles, but any unmarked items are at the customer’s risk.

Post-Aeration Lawn Care

  • Small soil plugs will remain on the lawn and naturally break down over time. Do not rake or remove them, as they help improve soil structure.
  • Watering your lawn after aeration is recommended to speed up recovery and enhance nutrient absorption.
  • If overseeding was performed, avoid mowing for at least 10-14 days to allow seeds to establish properly

Scheduling & Cancellation Policy

  • Aeration services are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled due to excessive rain or dry soil conditions.
  • Customers who fail to properly mark their lawn may have their service delayed or rescheduled, and additional fees may apply if a crew must return.
  • Cancellation requires 48 hours’ notice, or a cancellation fee may apply if a crew has already been dispatched.
